POPULAR GIRL CONTEST FUNDS FOR REST ROOM FINAL DAY SEPTEMBER 27 The position of the voting in the Popular Girl 'Contest at present being held in 'Mercury Bay to raise funds for a women’s rest room, gives Correne a substantial lead. DANCE AT COROGLEN COUNTRY GIRL AIDED The Coroglen Hall was well crowded when a dance was held in support of the Country Girl in the Popular Girl Contest at-present being held in Mercury Bay to raise funds to build a rest room at Whitianga. The dancers had a good time and several novelties were awarded to the programme. The local residents served a delightful savoury supper. GARDEN PARTY FUNDS FOR SARAH A garden party was held at “Beatings” on Saturday, opening at 11 a.m. the proceeds being for' Sarah in the Popular Girl Contest. A dainty lunch and afternoon tea was served as well as ice cream in the afternoon.

A Paddy’s Market held a variety of good thinks and other attractions were provided. There was a good attendance.

In the evening “Country” and “Daisy” held a combined dance which proved an added attraction. The music was bright and the .programme was a good one, including novelty dances and a nice supper.
