PAEROA CRICKET
ANNUAL MEETING OF CLUB ELECTION OF OFFICERS DISCUSSION ABOUT THE DOMAIN The annual meeting of the Paeroa Cricket Club was held during the week-end, the president, Mr H. M. Shand, presiding over a fair attendance of members. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr H. E. Butler; president, Mr G. M. Ruscoe; vice-presidents, Dr. S. iL. Haslett, Messrs E. Edward's, C. Gamble, H. M.Shand, J. J. Craig, N. C. Davies, W. C. Strong, A. E. Pearson; club captain, Mr J. Shears; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr M. M. Lally; hon. auditor, Mr A. A. A suggestion that the club be called in future the Paeroa Cricket Association as there would be four teams playing this season, was defeated. Subscription rates were fixed at seniors l'ss', juniors 10 s, school boys 6s. ■Mr W. FL F. Fhber advised* the meeting that he had headed a deputation to the Paeroa Borough Council in protest against the council’s 1 decision to take p'ortion of the Paeroa Domain as a bowling green but the council would not reconsider its decision. He asked if the club would give its support to a public meeting to be called in protest against the bowling green scheme.
Mr L. Gloyn then moved that the club give its support to such a public meeting. This was seconded’ by Mr J. Shears and carried 1 .
