GIFT EVENING
KEREPEEHI OOUIPLE HONOURED MR AND MRS L. BROADBENT There was a good attendance in the Kerepeehi Hall at a gift evening organised by the Kerepeehi Youth Club in honour of Mr and l Mrs L. Broadbent. Mrs Broadbent was formerly Miss Doreen Hayes, daug’S’fer of Mr and Mrs A. Hayes, of Kerepeehi. Music was supplied by Mrs A. P. Innis and Messrs C. Harvey, and B. Benney. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss L. Patterson and Mr F. Patterson. Mr C. Harvey, president of the Youth Club, in asking Doreen and Len to come forward and open the parcels, stated that Doreen was well known in the district and had always taken an active part in the social and sports activities- and was very popular with the local residents. He wished both the best of luck and a happy future on behalf of the Youth Club and resident's. Miss S. Harvey, president of the Kerepeehi Basketball Club, presentedDoreen with a gift from the club and expressed the good wishes of all the members for a hapy future. Mr Broadbent thanked the Youth and Basketball Clubs and residents for the lovely evening and l gifts presented to him and Doreen. Musical honurs were then accorded.
