APPLICATION REFUSED
ANOTHER TAXI DECISION OF AUTHORITY An application for an additional taxi 'licence, sought by B. N. A. Tindale at the string of the Transport Licensing Authority yesterday, was opposed by the Thames Taxi Proprietors (Air E. B. ClendOD). The application was declined sine die. Mr B. Woodcock, representing the Thames Rehabilitation Committee, appeared for Tindale. The applicant was a returned soldier of this war and had been wounded in a leg. said MiWoodcock. There were at one time 15 taxis operating in Thames. The town was not going back, and there was room for another taxi. At present there were six. That there was not sufficient work in Thames for another taxi if the proprietor was to make another living was 'stated by Mr (Hendon. P. McPhail and G. Wenzlick both gave evidence that there was not enough work
in Thames to provide a livelihood for another taxi.
