POPULAR GIRL CONTEST TWO MORE WEEKS BEFORE END With still over two weeks to go before the Popular Girl contest, being held in Mercury Bay to raise funds for a women’s rest room closes, Correne leads with a total of 5800 votes. The position of the girls is as follows:— Correne 5800 Thelma 5677 Daisy 5662 Sarah • • 5213 Dorothy 4052 There was a record attendance at the Saturday supper on September 8 and this added to Sarah’s votes. There is only a small margin still between the contestants.
