Engine’s Whistle Jams ' Many residents of Paeroa were awakened on Thursday morning by the sound of a railway engine’s whistle which, having jammed, sounded continuously for a few minutes. Shortly afterwards’ a church bell commenced to ring and residents mistakenly thought that the whistle and bells were heralding some important phase of the progress of the war. Foot Injured
(Painful injuries to his foot were experienced (by Mr G. Elvidge of Komata yesterday when a topdresser ran over it.
