At the July meeting of the Ohinemuri iCounty: Council a resolution of sympathy with Mr J. Thom, M.P. for Thames in the recent death of his brother was passed, the meeting standing in silence. Signaller L. Broadbent is the guest of Mr and Mrs A. Hayes, Kerepeehi. Mr E. Malaquin, Awakere, is the guest of Mr and Mrs D-. .Shilton, Kerepeehi. At Tuesday’s meeting of the Thames Hospital Board, Mr P. Walker, with Mr R. Farrell as consultant, both of Auckland, was appointed architect for the board’s rebuilding programme. Messrs D. iG. McMillan and A. H. ■Sutton were appointed at the July meeting of the Hauraki Plains iCounty 'Councill to attend the conference of local bodies, to be held to discuss the menace of poa acquatica on the Hauraki Plains. *
