HAURAKI GROUP OFFICERS ANNUAL MEETING HELD OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED The annual meeting of Hauraki Calf Clubs Group was held in Paeroa on Friday, the following delegates being present: —Messrs, D. G. McMillan (president), B. E. Veale, Ferguson, P. Caisley, B. Kelly, G. Ruscoe, Marshall, Baker, Meyer, Finlay, Martin and (Mitchell, Father W. O’Meara and H. G. McGowan (secretary,). In the annual report it was stated that 344 calves were paraded l at the club shows, 359 entries were received for the championship show at Paeroa and that 63 correct platings were given out of 248 entrants for children’s judging. Question of Finance
(Methods of improving the financial position of the group were discussed and it was decided to recommend the suggestion that affiliated clubs make donations at Is’ per member.
Congratulations were extended 1 to all winners and exhibitors for the grand display given. Thanks were extended to Hauraki Agricultural and Pastoral Association for its assistance and co-operation. The excellent work of the judges and teachers whose great help ensured the success of the movement received great praise. Officers Elected Thanks were (given to the press for its publicity and to Mr W. Dale, inspector of stock, for his informative articles. Donors of cups, trophies and prizes were thanked. The enthusiastic co-operation obtained from leaders of the farming community (had been most encouraging and, assured the success of the group for future years. The election of officers resulted as follows: —(President, .Mr D. G. McMillan; vice-president, Mr iB. E. Veale; secretary and treasurer, Mr H. G. McGowan; executive committee, president, vice-president, secretary and Messrs Ruscoe and Kelly. Revision of Schedule
It was recommended that yearling competitions (be held of calves already shown at a calf show and' that prizewinners' be eligible to compete at the championship show. The executive committee was instructed to undertake the revision of the schedule and make recommendations for the next meeting. .
An alteration was made in the rules of the group, calves, born between July 1 and August 31 to be eligible to compete at shows. Appreciation of the service given during the past year by the secretary, Mr McGowan, was expressed iby the president who emphasised that the success of the whole group had been largely due to the work and interest of the secretary.
