TIDINGS OF GREAT JOY

A SAVIOUR BORN THE MESSAGE OF CHRISTMAS “This is London calling. Here is the news.” How often we have heard that familiar announcement during the past five years. As we once again enter upon the festive season of Christmas, another voice brings' the news to all who listen. This time it is not London calling but the voice of an angel proclaiming afresh God’s message to the whole world. “Behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be *to all people. For unto you is born' this day in the city of David, a Saviour which is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2. 10.11.) This is the message of Christinas. The good tidings of great joy are brought; to all people—they are wrought to you, reader because you are a sinner and l you need l a Saviour. Your moral character may be above reproach. Your fellow-men 1 may hold you in the highest esteem. iTor all that, “the Scripture hath concluded all under sin,” ‘(Galatians 3,22.) and “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners l .” (1 Timothy 1.1'5.)'
