Borough Council Meets The December meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council was held in the Borough Chambers on Monday night, the Mayor, Mr Edwin Edwards, presiding. Others present were Messrs F. Johnston, A. O. H. Allison, E. L. Shaw, J. Walmsley, R. P. Ganley, WChamberlain, C. C. Webb, the deputy - Mayor, Mr H. M. Shand and the town clerk, Mr R. S. Nicol. .Travelling Expenses A decision that travelling expenses ■be paid for all voluntary aids when they came to work in. or assist at the Thames Hospital, was made at the December meeting of the (Hospital Board. “They are doing splendid work,” said Mi* J. Christmas greetings from Mr J. Thorn, M.P., and’ Mrs Thorn were received at the December meeting of the Themes Hospital Board. Mr Thom also forwarded a donation for Christmas comforts for children in the hospital and expressing appreciation of this, the board decided to forward the amount to the matron to use as desired for the purposes stated.

Ohinemuri County Council At the December meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council, held l in the Coronation Chambers, Paeroa, there were present Crs. T. A. BaTrett (chairman), F. L. Franklin, F. Thorp, E. L. Yearbury, G. A. Avery, R. W. Lowry, C. Christensen, S. H. with the county clerk, Mr A. A. Jenkinson, and. the county engineer, Mr IL. E. Bhaw.
