Donation of £5 At Wednesday’s meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council it was agreed to make a grant of £s' to the Ngatea 'branch of the St. John Ambulance. Turua Dairy Producers The monthly meeting of the Dairy Producers’ Association was held in. the Turua Buildings on Tuesday evening, December 12. The president, Mr E.' B. Hill, presided over a good at-: tendance. Sunday School Function An innovation will-be made in connection with the Paeroa Methodist Sunday School on Sunday afternoon next (see. advertisement) in the shape of a Christmas holiday break-up service in the church. Adults are cordially invited to this function which will feature a number of interesting items. Holiday Closing

The office of the Hauraki Plains 'Gazette will be closed for the Christmas. holiday period from Saturday, December 23, to Saturday, January 6 and there will be no paper published between those dates. The office will re-open on Monday morning, January 8.

Plains Council Meets

The December meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council was held at Ngatea on Wednesday, the chairman, Mr C. W. Parfitt, presiding. Others present were Crs. J. F. Mayn, D. G. McMillan, W. H. Cheale, C. W. Schultz, >F| Pinchess, A. H. Sutton, the county clerk, Mr E. A. Mahoney and the county engineer, Mr E. HazleCline--Barber. Leave of absence was granted Crs. W. E. Hale and J. W. Neate.
