CARD EVENING

FINAL NIGHT AT WAITAKARURU

FUNDS FOR ANGLICAN CHURCH

After a successful series of card evenings held in the Anglican Church Hall at Waitakaruru, the final night was held on Monday, September 4. These evenings have proved most sociable affairs and profitable for the cause for which they were run, namely the building fund for the hall.

Points were counted for the different players each, night, and the winners of these were: —Ladies: Mrs F. Stretton. Men: Mr Harold Jesen. The winners of the evening’s play were Mrs C. Hinton and Mr C. Death. •

A hearty vote carried by acclamation was accorded Mrs A. McLean for the work she had done in funning these functions so successfully, and also to the following who donated the prizes:—Points prizes, Mrs J, Dobbs (ladies), Mrs A. McLean (men). Others: Mesdames H. Jesen, G. Crosbie, A. McLean, C. Death, N. Hedges, F. Stretton, A. Hegh, L. Bates, -H. Wallis.
