TROTTING DATES
REPORT ON CONFERENCE MEETING OF THAMES CLUB. A report on the 'New Zealand Trotting Conference, at which he was the , Thames club’s delegate, was presented by Mr A. E. Rabbidge at a meeting of the committee of the Thames Trotting Club recently, at which Mr W. B. Teasdale, president, presided. The permits of the Hawera and Taranaki clubs had been allotted to the South Auckland amalgamated clubs, provided there was no chahge in the present transport said Mr* Rabbidge. December.2, 1944, March 10, 1945 and May 2, 1945, had been granted for the ordinary meet- t ings, while the other two permits would be used probably at .feaster. Lack of publicity for North Island dealt with in the report, a promise dealt with in t he report, a promise having been given that extra space would be given in the future. Country clubs met before the con- ' ference to discuss' the formation of a Country Clubs’ Trotting Association. No finality was reached, but it was agreed that country club delegates should meet next year before the conference. The next conference will be held at Wellington on a date to be decided.
