OFFER OF COMPENSATION NO REPLACEMENT POSSIBLE The Miinawatu provincial executive of the Farmers' Union is by no means satisfied with the offer of the Minister of Supply, the lion. D. G. Sullivan, to make a compensation payment of 5/for every pair of leaky gumboots. The Minister wrote that, the matter of unsatisfactory gumboots had been taken up with the United States authorities (the boots were secured under leaselend), but. no replacements could be arranged at this stage.
