ODDFELLOWS MEET

LOYAL HAURAKI LODGE TWO NEW MEMBERS INITIATED The fortnightly meeting of the Hauraki Lodge was held on Monday, March 27, the N.G., Sis. M. Keyte presiding over a good attendance of members. The sick visitors’ reports proved satisfactory. Two new members were initiated and accorded the honours of the Order. The N.G. presented P.G. Bro. V. Powley with the lodge emblem and expressed the hope that he would continue his work in the lodge wherever he might be. Bro. Powley suitably replied. An invitation from Rotorua Lodge to attend a function in honour of their retiring secretary after 30 years’ service, was received and it was regretted l that no one could attend owing to travel and petrol restrictions. The secretary was instructed to send an invitation to the District Grand Master to attend the lodge’s 49th. celebration this year. A hearty welcome was accorded P.G. Bro. Driver of the Loyal Thames Lodge.

Bro. Driver suitably replied, conveying fraternal greetings to this lodge.

P.G. Sis. P. Riley reported having attended a meeting of Loyal Ponsoniby Lodge and conveyed greetings from there to this lodge. After the lodge prayer was read, the meeting closed. Supper and a social evening followed till midnight.
