WEEKLY LUNCHEON
PAEROA ROTARY CLUB JOB TALK BY MR L. BURKE The usual weekly luncheon of the Rotary Club of Paeroa was held in the club rooms on Wednesday, the president, Mr C. N. O’Neill presiding over a large attendance of members. The guests for the day were Messrs M. Primrose and A. O. H. Allison. The speaker was Mr L. Burke, Borough Commissioner at Thames. Mr Burke gave an exceptionally interesting job talk which he titled “An Experiment in Local Body Government.” He traced the history of the borough of Thames since the appointment of a commissioner. Mr J. H. Bartlett proposed a vote of thanks to the speaker which was carried by acclamation.
