NEIL—McKAIN

BRIDE. IN IVORY 'SATIN AND NET

The marriage took place at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, paeroa, on Saturday, September 18, of 'Private Ivan Wilbert Neil, 2nd. N.ZJjhF. (on furlough) eldest son of Mrs M. Neil and the late Mr H. A. Neil, of Junction road, Paeroa, and Miss Mary Jean McKain, elder daughter of Mr J. McKain and the late Mrs McKain of Netherton. Rev. T. A. Speer of Waihi performed the ceremony and iMrs W. E. Tubman presided at the organ.-

The bride who was escorted by her father wore a graceful gown of ivory hailstone net and satin. The longwaisted fitting- bodice was cut with a heart-shaped neckline while the short puff sleeves and flowing skirt which formed the train were pannelled with satin and net. (Her tulle veil was caught to the head with a top-knot of cyclamen and she carried a bouquet of similar flowers and freesias.

Miss Daphne McKain (sister of the bride) and Miss June Neil (sister of the bridegroom) were in attendance at bridesmaids wearing frocks of pale blue floral sheer. Cut with long fitting bodices, similar to that of the bride, <with puff sleeves and heartshaped necklines, the full gathered skirts were finished with frills. They wore blue tulle veils fastened to the head with blue daisies and each carried a bouquet of pink cyclamen and maidenhair fern.

The bridegroom was attended by two members of the 2nd. N.Z.E.F. (on furlough) Corporal G. Fraser, of 'Paeroa, as best man, and Private C. Baker of Paeroa, as groomsman.

At the reception held afterwards at the Civic Ballroom the guests were received by the bride’s aunt, Mrs R. Reddy, assisted by the mother of the bridegroom, the former- wearing a frock of black crepe, with matching accessories and a shoulder spray of freesias and maidenhair fern. Mrs Neil wore a mulberry crepe frock, black hat and accessories and a shoulder spray of freesias. When the bride and bridegroom left later on a tour the bride was wearing

a marina blue angelskin frock, with Iblack accessories and a fur coat, the gift of the bridegroom.
