FLIGHT-SGT. A. McCALL
ADVENTURES IN MIDDLE EAST
After three years of service in Britain and the Middle East, Flight-Sgt. A. McCall, son of Mr and Mrs C. A. McCall, of Papa-aroha, Coromandel, returned to his home on Tuesday, Sepber 7.
Flight-Sgt. McCall, who was a menx? ber of the crew of a Wellington bomber, took part in many operations over Germany and' the Continent and was later transferred to the Middle East. He took part in the evacuation of Greece and Crete, the Lybian Campaign and in both Libyan Campaigns, also in numerous raids over the Dodecanese Islands. His plane was shot down in the Mediterranean sea at one time, the crew clinging to the wreckage for three hours before being rescued.
He was later sent back to England, where he has been instructing for the
last few months.
