HAURAKI ELECTORATE
INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE MR H. T. HEAD SPEAKS The Independent candidate for the Hauraki electorate, Mr H. T. Head, opened his campaign in Patetonga on Saturday night. Unfortunately the candidate struck a “welcome home” to Sergeant McDonald, a repatriated prisoner of war, so that the attendance was not as large as was anticipated. Nevertheless the candidate was given an attentive hearing to a speech of an hour and a-quarter and received applause to his answers to many questions. ’ The candidate was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence without dissent.
