NGATEA FAREWELL

MRS S. COPPINS HONOURED DRAMA CIRCLE PRESENTATION A most enjoyable evening was held recently at the residence of Mr and Mrs R. B. Paul, Ngatea, when the opportunity was also taken to farewell Mrs S. Coppins, a member of the Ngatea Women’s Institute Drama Circle. A very happy time was spent in playing cards and games. Mr G. Pinnock of Auckland- rendered several vocal solos, Mr Smith (Ngatea), being the pianoforte accompanist. The Drama Circle presented a play, after which a delicious supper was served. A small presentation was later made to Mrs Coppins by Mrs A. Cleave on behalf of the “Red Wax” cast. Mrs Coppins took the part of “Ann” in this play, which was successful in winning the Grace Phillips Memorial Cup at the drama festival (W.1.) held in Auckland during May. Mrs Cleave asked “Ann” to accept the gift in appreciation of her work for the Ngatea Women’s Institute Drama Circle and expressed sincere regret at losing Mrs Coppins from the district. Mrs Coppins suitably replied and was accorded musical honours. On behalf of everyone present, Mrs

Cleave then thanked W, Mrs and Miss Paul for such a delightful evening. Others present were Mrs M. Grbich, Mrs J. Hughes, Miss A. Dalgety, Mi»s P. Cleave", Mr Boyden, Mr Hughes and Mr Cleave.
