LADIES MEET IN PAEROA NEW MEMBERS ELECTED The June meeting of the Paeroa Ladies’ Patriotic Committee was held in the Coronation Chambers, Paeroa, last week, the Mayoress, Mrs Edwin Edwards, presiding. Others present were Mesdames E. Hunt, R .A. Mace, G. Stewart, W. Barclay, J. Silcock, M. Parry, W. Robson, J. Bartlett, C. E. James, G. Bennett, E. Turton, J. Fielding, A. A. Jenkinson, W. Hopping, E. Westlake, H. Evans, F. McQuillan. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames R. Buckrell, L. Gibb, W. Wylde, J. R. Kidd, S. Hedge and G. Elvidge. Meedames E. Westlake, A. Landman and R. P. Callaway were elected to the committee. It was decided to donate the profit of £4 9s, the result of a card evening held, to the Soldiers’ Gift Parcel Fund. It was reported that knitting done during May and June had heerf handed in as under:—4B scarves, 28 balaclavas, 9 pairs socks and 8 pairs mittens, a total of 93 articles.
