. FISH STRANDED ON PLAINS , LEFT BY THE HIGH TIDES

Hundreds of carp, very many of them bright colours, are being found stranded among the weeds in the canal at Kerepeehi after high tides, report settlers from that district. One settler of the district states that although he has resided 14 years on the Plains he has never seen these fish stranded in such numbers before. Most of the fish die and also do not survive even if moved to suitable troughs.
