Downie, Maramarua, who is givng up dairying owing to ill-health, to sell as above the Whole of his Dairy Herd of 36 JERSEY COWS, mostly 2nd or 3rd calvers, due from date of sale onwards. Herd was tested 2 years ago, giving 3881 b. of butterfat in 370 days. Most of the herd are descendants of these cows, by bulls with 7001 b. butterfat backing; 30 extra choice Jersey and Jersey-cross Heifers, rising 2yrs. old, from a herd of 100 cows with an average of 3501 b. butterfat, factory returns; by a sire whose dam did 7001 b. butterfat; 1 rising 2yr. grade Bull with good butterfat backing. _ Mr Downie has been breeding and building up this herd over a number of years, and buyers should not miss this opportunity of obtaining some of these high-producing dairy cows.
