NEW IDEAS WANTED
COLLECTING PATRIOTIC FUNDS MORE PUBLICITY SUGGESTED At a meeting of patriotic workers in Wellington opinions were expressed that new ideas and new blood should assist the patriotic association for the purpose of raising the £lOO,OOO that is required from Wellington for the Dominion effort.
One speaker, commenting on the slackening-off during the holidays, said that the soldiers were fighting day and night during that period and the very least the people of Wellington could do was to provide the necessary money for the purchasing of comforts for the troops in the fighting areas. More assistance, it was urged, should be provided for the honorary secretary and the whole tempo of the organisation should be quickened up by more publicity and versatile methods.
It was resolved to approach the committee for the purpose of bringing before them the ideas discussed at the meeting.
