CARE NEEDED
SUPPLY OF ELECTRICITY WARNING TO THE PUBLIC THAMES VALLEY POWER BOARD A warning that every care should be taken to prevent waste in electricity so that the board’s consumption will not exceed the supply allowed by the Government was contained in the report of the chief engineer, Mr N. G. Me-. Leod, to Tuesday’s meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board. The report read as under: — “The board’s consumption of electricity, compared with the corresponding weeks of last year, is showing a rising tendency. For the four weeks ending March 21, the weekly increases in units have been 5.29%, 5.49%, 6.6% and 6.95% respectively. Our allocation for the past year was 7%. . It has been indicated that while the total allowable increase on the Government system may be the same as last year, it does not necessarily follow that each. Supply Authority will have the same. ’ It does mean that every care should be taken to prevent waste.”
