Patriotic Gift The Wellington Racing Club, which decided to devote its profit each year to patriotic purposes, has forwarded a cheque for <£7150 to the authorities administering the iPatriotic Fund. This includes a sum of £6OB drawn from the club’s own funds and added to the working profit for the 1941-42 season. Went Well Considering that Don Quex made all the running in the Carnarvon Handicap, and was also forced along by Sir Crusoe, his third for a. first of the season effort was very creditable, and he may soon- do better. A Maiden Winner Pedantic, the winner of the scurry at Otaki on Saturday, was previously a maiden performer, and had raced, previously only at the Wanganui In Work Again Among the entries for the Hawke’s Bay spring meeting is Kindergarten who is to do his racing this season in the Dominion. It is reported that he has. been in light exercise at Gisborne for some time. Kindergarten’s engagement at Hastings next week is in the open sprint.
