FARMERS IN BUSY SEASON

The question of exemption from Home Guard, parades for farmers during the busy season was reported on at Thursday’s meeting of the Thames Primary Production •• Council by the secretary, Mr J. E. Green.

“I have ascertained from the authorities that leave of absence can be obtained iby Guardsmen from attendance at parades from their company commanding officers through headquarters for up to three months but that appeals can be lodged with the Armed Forces Appeal Boards in the same way as is done for military service, for partial or complete exemption,” reported Mi’ Green.
