Restrictions governing the Transport of Stock in the Thames Valley Goods Transport Control District (Transport Emergency Regulations 1942). Notice is hereby given that the restrictions set out herein shall operate from SATURDAY, 10th October, 1942. 1. All fat and store lambs may be carted to and from the nearest of any railway station, saleyard or works in the area. 2. All rams may be carted as m (1) above. 3. No cattle or horses may be carted but in exceptional circumstances application may be made to the Committee when a permit may be granted. N. 8.: No restriction is placed on the cartage of service bulls in the area, during the month of October, but as from Ist November, 1942, service bulls shall be transported only to and from the nearest railhead. 4. Bobby calves shall be carted as usual. 5. Pigs may be carted as m (1) above: the Committee requires that all orders for the cartage of pigs shall be in the x hands of the carrier concerned at least 24 hours before the time of loading. • The Committee further requires that farmers shall provide pig pens at the roadside or alternatively provide a formed or weather road giving access to the loading chute, said pens or road to be available as from Ist November, 1942. All persons, whether licensed or otherwise, engaged in the cartage of stock must conform to the decision of this Committee. “Stock” means horses, live cattle, sheep or swine, of either sex or any age. Every unlicensed operator before carting must get a permit from the Committee. The following persons have been authorised to issue permits on behalf of the committee: R. J. W. Clark, Paeroa; C. T.
