ROADS TOO ROUGH?
COMPLAINT MADE TO COUNTY OPINION OF THE COUNCILLORS Complaints at the rough state of roads in certain parts of the county and urging that improvements be carried out in order to help conserve tyres and petrol were received at the September meeting of the Coromandel County Council from Messrs Denize Bros., H. M. Hawkeswood and P. T. Pickering.
After various councillors had given their views as to the state of the roads, it was proposed by the chairman, Mr C. C. Rae, and, seconded by Cr. A. Watkins “that this council considers the roads are no worse than in the past and every endeavour is being made to do necessary maintenance.” This poposal to be made known to the writers of the letters per letters.
