RAILWAYS PRAISED
SERVICE TO THE FARMERS CARTAGE OF BOBBY CALVES The service give nto the farming community by the railways was mentioned by Mr G. iS. Reid, district traffic manager, at the Thames sitting of the No. 1 Licensing Authority on Wednesday. The zoning officer for the bobby calf pool had written congratulating the department on the way stock was handled last year, he said. “What cannot go by road must go by rail,” said Mr Phelan later in the sitting.
It seems well, and certainly only fair, that this great service should he viewed in its proper perspective.
