DANCE AT KAIHERE

POPULAR AMATEUR BAND

VERY ENJOYABLE EVENINGS

Although the price of paid orchestras is prohibitive with the petrol shortage what it is, nevertheless the young people of Kaihere do not let this worry them. Every other Saturday night everybody who is music-ally-minded, and who can play any instrument from a grand piano to a hair-comb, meets in the local hall, and the result is pleasing harmony. This amateur band is very popular *and each dance finds the hall filled with young and old. A small charge meets the cost of the hall and supper (sandwiches and tea) while the surplus is devoted to soldiers’ comforts and local charities.
