NOW “ESSENTIAL”
LIME WORKS CLASSIFIED MORE NOW BEING USED Lime-crushing proprietaries have received intimation from the authorities that lime production has been classified as an essential industry. '•* This will be a great help to the lime companies, which have had the greatest difficulty in meeting orders for lime this season (particularly at the rush periods when required by farmers) owing to the reduction of their staffs.
Some companies in the autumn were as much as 3000; tons in arrear in supplying their orders. The tendency is for an increased use of lime, one factor being the reduced supply of fertilisers.
