COROGLEN WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING HELD There was a fair attendance at the July meeting of the Coroglen Women’s Institute. Sickness in the family prevented many members being present. Miss K. Hodge, vicepresident, was in the chair.
The balance sheet of the Dominion Federation was received and discussed. A letter was received from the Air Force assuring members that every care was exercised by drivers of Air Force vehicles and that no alarm need be felt for the safety of children going to and from school.
It was reported that the institute was finding it difficult to’ obtain a wooden pole for the banner. It was decided to write to Auckland to see if one could be obtained there. Some rules for the library were drawn up, the subscription being fixed
at 2s 6d from now until March 31, 1943, and to then he reviewed.
Members decided to hold a dance to raise funds for electric light for the hall.
A bring and buy for the piano fund realised £1 9s 3d, a splendid effort. After the usual votes of thanks the meeting closed.
