WELLINGTON RACING CLUB .SECOND DAY ON SATURDAY.

The card for the second day of the Wellington Racing Club's winter meeting is a well-ibalanced one. The main races are the Parliamentary Handicap on the flat and the Winter Hurdles. This year the July Steeplechase will also be of greater than usual importance, for its stake wss raised to £BOO to compensate for the loss of the third day’s crosscountry events. The field of 17 in the Parliamentary Handicap , contains eight fresh horses who did. not race on the opening day. Among them are Old Bill, Sally Lunn, Classform, Centrepoise, The Monarch and Aurora’s Star, so they might easily provide the winner.

Renascor is the only newcomer in the Winter Hurdles, in which Foxiana is an interesting acceptor. He was among the best of the hurdlers before he took to steeplechasing and he showed on Saturday that in addition to possessing the necessary stamina, he retains all his pace. If Foxiana takes on the hurdles he should make it very difficult for the topweight Erndale, and at the same time make it much easier for Clansman in the steeplechase. Horses likely to be fancied are as under: —

Corunna Hurdles, li miles. Alienate, Hunting Lore. Trial Plate, 6 fur. —Boulder Dam, Monmouth, Enthrall. Winter Hurdles, 2i miles. —Renaseor, Pekoe, Evans Head. Seatoun Handicap, 7 fur. — Taku Kara, First Round, Josette.

July Steeplechase, about 3 miles. ■—Clansman, Foxiana, Dozie Boy. Parliamentary Handicap, 1 mile 3 fur. —Lambourn,' Old Bill, Sally Lunn.

Members’ Handicap, 7 fur. —Rara Avis, 'Duality, Boloyna. Kia Ora Handicap, 1 mile. —Moderate, Gold Court, Sir Fox.
