monthly meeting held
OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL
In the unavoidable absence of the chairman, Mr W. Marshall, Mr T. Barrett-presided at the monthly meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council, which was held on Wednesday in the Coronation Chambers, Paeroa. Others present were Messrs J. J* Shallue, M. A. Ellis, T. Cotter, G. A. Avery, L. G.> Leopold, the county clerk Mr A. A. Jenkinson, and the engineer, Mr L. E. Shaw. Leave of absence was granted Mr Marshall, Mr F. L. Franklin and Mr C. Christensen. Mr Barrett said that it was gratifying to hear that Cr. Franklin would be restored to health again after His, serious illness. It was resolved at the meeting to co-operate With the Auckland branch, the. New Zealand Crippled Children .Society, in its appeal regarding representation. Councillors agreed that such, a worthy object should receive the assistance of the local bods. in any way possible.
