ONLY A PLAN

DOMAIN AT KEREPEEHI

SETTLERS GET IMPATIENT

FARMERS’ UNION DISCUSSION

At the monthly meeting of the Kerepeehi branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union Mr H. Jamieson asked Mr D. G. McMillan, district representative on the Hauraki Plains County Council if anything had been done about the Kerepeehi domain. Mr McMillan said that so far only a plan had been prepared which, if put into effect would cost £lo'oio. He suggested, that the Kerepeehi Domain Committee meet the county engineer on the ground. From then on a very heated discussion took place, Mr Jamieson alleging that the committee was defunct and asked that a public meet-

ing be called by the Farmers’ Union, inviting the engineer to attend. Mr ; C. Pearce said that it would be a vote of no confidence in the committee.

Mr McMillan claimed that the committee had done its job and that the fault lay with the county. It was finally decided, that the committee meet the engineer and Mr McMillan on the ground.
