EARLY CALVERS IN DEMAND

VALUES AT MORRIN.SVILLE

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report that at their weekly Morrinsville stock sale on Friday a small yarding of mutton, for which prices remained firm. The advertised entry -of store hoggets attracted a good bench of buyers, and sold freely, whilst improved. values were paid for an entry of 4 and 5-year breeding ewes. There was a good yarding of all classes of fat and store cattle, including many pens of .boners and Jersey heifer calves. Competition was spirited throughout and good prices realised.

Fully the advertised entry of dairy cattle, came forward. Young early calvers sold freely, but backward and. aged cows were slow of sale. Best quality dairy heifers maintained satisfactory prices, but backward and small animals were not sought after. A medium yarding of all classes.

Cattle. —Fat Jersey heifers, £4 15s to £6 15s; fat Jersey cows, £5 to £5 6s; heavy boners, £4 8s to £4 19s; medium, £3 17s to £4; light, £2 to £2 14s; cull cows, 20s to £2. ss; bulls, 265; Shorthorn heifer calves, £3; best Jersey heifer calves, £3 2s fid to £3 9s; smaller, £2 2s to £2 15s.

Dairy cattle.—Medium quality Jersey heifers, £7 12s fid to £8 15s; smaller, £7 to £7 10s; small and backward heifers, £5 5s to £6' 15s; best young Jersey cows, £8 15s to £lO 10s; Jersey and.
