GOLF OPENING

CLUB AT MERCURY BAY MRS TROUGHEAR HONOURED On Sunday, April 26, the Mercury Bay Golf Club held, their official opening. The weather was perfect and 27 members and visitors attended the function. In the absence of the president, Mr Geo Pooley, Mr Scoble (secretary), welcomed the guests from Coromandel.

He also made a presentation of two golf balls to Mrs Troughear as an appreciation for her valuable help in club affairs.

The players then enjoyed several rounds and later were served with an excellent lunch and afternoon tea by the members. In the hidden hole contest Mrs Murphy (Coromandel) tied, with Mrs M. Niccol.

Mrs Murphy thanked the member’s for the enjoyable day and hoped they would be able to pay another visit in the near future.
