STORE AND WEANER PIGS

KEEN DEMAND FOR BACONERS

• The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report that at their weekly Morrinsville stock sale on Friday a good yarding of all classes of sheep, with competition for fats keen and values firm. A large yarding of store lambs sold freely.

A medium yarding of beef sold .at values on a par with last week’s rates, while another heavy yarding of boners met good competition and realised satisfactory prices. A full entry of Jersey heifer calves. Quality lots created interest and prices improved on recent sales. A full entry of fat pigs, together with a medium penning of stores and weaners. Competition for baconers and porkers was very keen with values fully up to last week’s quotations. Stores and weaners also showed an improvement in values. Quotations: — _

Sheep.—Light prime wethers, 25s to 25s 8d; heavy prime lambs, 25s 6d to 26s Id; medium, 22s 6d. to 245; light fat lambs, 19s. to 21s 6d; best forward conditioned shorn Black Face lambs, 15s 6d to 16s 3d; medium quality, 13s to 13s 9d; shorn White Face ewe lambs, to 16s; woolly Black Face lambs, 14s to 15s 3d; medium, 12s to 13s; call lambs, 7s to 7s 9d.

•Cattle.—Medium fat cows, £6 10s
