LODGE FAREWELL

PTE. WHEATON ENTERS CAMP

FUNCTION THURSDAY NIGHT

Fellow members of the Star of Paeroa Lodge of Druids foregathered at the home of Bro. E. V. Slytfield, on Thursday night to farewell Bro. P. L. Wheaton who is proceeding to camp.

A happy hour was spent in recalling memories of the early days of Druidic life in Paeroa and reviewing the changes which time and circumstances have brought about in social affairs.

After partaking of a hearty supper 'Bro. C. H. Pascoe, P.A., called on Bro. J. T. Brown, P.D.P., to make the presentation of a smokers’ companion to the guest of the evening. Both officers bore testimony to the zeal of Bro. Wheaton during his progress through the chairs of the lodge in which he had now reached the principal office, that of A.‘D. Hopes were expressed for happy days in the Army and a safe return to civilian life.

Pte. Wheaton responded, thanking the members for the help they had. given him in lodge and for the gift which he would- always, treasure.
