THAMES VALLEY DAIRY CREAMERY AT WAITOA PAEROA SCHOOL COMMITTEE (From the Ohinemuri Gazette of April 15, 1902.)' The opening and dedication ceremony in connection with iSt. Joseph’s Church took place at Waihi yesterday. The ceremony was performed by His Lordship Bishop Lenihan, and a sermon was delivered by His Lordship at 11 a.m. A special choir from Auckland was in attendance and supplied the music. Quite a number of Paeroa residents went out to witness the ceremony. At a meeting of directors of the Thames Valley Co-operative Dairying Company held on Saturday last, it was decided to erect a creamery near the Waitoa .Railway Station. This was in response to an application from 12 settlers who guaranteed the milk from two hundred and sixty cows and agreed to take up equivalent shares in"'the company. The sum of £760 was passed for payment of last month’s milk. At the Council Chambers yesterday afternoon tenders were opened for clearing drains on the Te Iringa 0 Pirori road and W. Thompson’s tender at 14s 6d per chain for the first 30> chains and Ils 9d for each subsequent chain, was accepted. The only other' tenderer was W. K. Morrison, at 20s per chain. Messrs Poland and Moore were the councillors present. Nominations of candidates for election as members to serve on the Paeroa School Committee are as follows:—W. Marsh, W. H. Mahoney, J. McAndrew, J. Nathan, H. L. Hanston, H. D. Manning, J. W. Woodbury, D. W. McArthur. Nine members are required, so that there is still a vacancy.
