THAMES VALLEY DRAINAGE
REDUCTION OF SUBSIDY
When the Thames Valley Drainage Board met last Thursday it was reported toy the clerk that advice had been received that the subsidy for the men employed on Scheme 13 would be reduced from £4 15s per man week to £4 per man week. It was decided that unless the settlers for whom the work was being carrie’d out would agree to find the increased overhead expenditure the men would be put off as the ooard could not finance the additional burden.
