MAORI IN PAEROA COURT
BINOCULARS STOLEN
THREW THEM INTO SEA
Charged with stealing a pair of binoculars valued at £7, at Waiomo, Thames Coast, the property of Marie Valda, a Maori, Wiri te Moananui, of Netherton pleaded guilty in the Paeroa Court before Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M. on Monday.
The accused stated that he had thrown the binoculars into the sea. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within 12 months and to pay the £7 in such sums as the police required.
