12,493 CONSUMERS
VALLEY POWER BOARD DECREASE FOR YEAR “The total number of consumers connected to the board’s mains is 12,493. Thames and Te Aroha boroughs are. included in this total and number 1258 and 817 respectively,” reported the manager, Mr R. Sprague to the monthly meeting- of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board. The report continued:
“Two lighting and heating consumers were connected for the month, also 25 ranges, 35 waterheaters, nine industrial motors and 20 motors on farms, or which three are milking motors. There are now connected and operating 3131 ranges, 5778 waterheaters, 951 industrial motors and 6843 motors on farms, of which 3426 are milking motors. Forty consumers had additional lighting and heating connections made.
“The total additional connections in the various services for the year are as follow:—Lighting and heating consumers, 1941, 292; 1940, 592; decrease for year, 300; ranges, 360, 512, 152; waterheaters, 569, 664, 95; industrial motors, 16, 27, 11; milking motors, 105, 143, 38; farm motors, 246, 283, 37; lighting and heating additions, 426, 541, 115. “There,will be seen from the above figures a marked decrease in all connected loading during the year. This was stressed in the annual report, and it can be anticipated that a further marked decrease will be shown in this year’s figures.”
