TRAINING FOR JOBS “ FEMALE EMANCIPATION ” The Board of Governors of Canterbury Agricultural College has agreed to conduct a specialised course for training’ women in herd-testing in the inter-term vacation, starting on May 2. Professor E. R. Hudson-, director ofM the college, said • that the request for . the course had been made by the New ' Zealand Dairy Board. Some difficulty was being caused through the absorption of men into military service, and accordingly the training of more women for herd-testing was being sought. The course would be a specialised one and would take about twd weeks.

The Dairy Board and the South Island Herd Improvement Association will take the necessary steps to obtain and enrol students for the course, fees to be paid by the board.

A similar course for women was commenced at Massey Agricultural College last month. The probable number taking the course at Lincoln will be 25.
