ROAD TOO NARROW
DANGEROUS CONGESTION
POSITIONS AT N'GATEA A VERY URGENT MATTER The large gathering outside the new Hauraki Theatre at Ngatea on Wednesday night both before and after the performance and the great congestion of motor-cars, was conclusive evidence that the authorities must give immediate attention to the filling-in of the two large , drains on both sides of the main highway, and in particular the one on the southern side. There is also the need for further street lights for the township. With pedestrians and children dodging cars in all directions, at the close of the performance it was a miracle nobody was reported seriously or fatally injured. I The county council has already taken the matter up with the Highways Board and Mr Wynyard, a member of the board, was at Ngatea the other day taking a note of the position and he will bring the matter before the next meeting of the No. 2 Highway Council, when no doubt something will be done. The matter is therefore one of urgency and should be given first consideration by the Highway and Drainage Boards and the • County Council.
