ANNUAL BALL
KOPUARAHI HOCKEY GIRL'S The annual ball of the Kopuarahi Hockey Girls was held, in the Turua Hall on Wednesday evening. Mr B. Miller was MC. while the music was provided by the Melody Makers’ Orchestra from Thames. Several novelty dances were arranged and winners of the spot waltz were Mrs K. McGlynn (Thames) and Mr Hayward. Miss N. Death and partner won the Monte Carlo and prizes for the competitions went to Mass C. Bond and Mr J. Bassett. Mt J. Vowles played an extra. The ladies’ committee present were:—Mrs Death, black marocain; Mrs B. Miller, cyclamen satin; Misses A. Deakin, floral crepe; P. Hudson, black taffetas;. S. Hudson, pale blue satin and silver; J. Hudson, black satin beaute; F. Death, pink georgette; F. Death, tartan taffetas and D. Clevely, green georgette. Dancers included:—

Newly-bought tea warmed on a piece of brown paper for a few minutes in the oven will make the tea last longer and improve its flavour. * » * * When enamel pan or piedish gets stained, the colour can be restored if you damp a piece of rag, dip it in salt, and rub the stains hard.
