Hotels Declared “Black” The Waihi Engineers’ Union has decided to declare all hotels in the district “black,” and the Ohinemuri Mines’ and Batteries’ Union has extended the boycott to include all hotels in the Thames electorate. Control of Electricity From yesterday control of the electric power boards of the Dominion was taken over by the Government. The secretary of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board advises that work on the Thames coast extension will continue. Celebrations Postponed In view of the declaration of war by the Dominion the Te Aroha centennial celebrations committee has temporarily disbanded until the position has been clarified by the Department of Internal Affairs.
