STREET LIGHTING
PROVISION FOR MORE LAMPS NINETEEN TO BE INSTALLED. The provision of extra street lights in Paeroa was made by the borough council on Thursday when the report of the lighting committee advocating the installation of 19 more street lamps as well as alterations to several existing ones was received. The lighting committee, after a review of the streets, recommended the council to give lighting consideration to: Princess street 1, Dr. Little’s end of bridge 1, StewaM’s corner, Normanby road 1, Fraser street 1, shift three present lights on Waihi main road between bridge and Catholic Church to the opposite side of the street: Willoughby street 2, Mr Gamble jnr.’s corner 1, corner of Russell and De Castro streets 1, top of Bennett street 1, Olga street 1, Aorangi road 1, Ainslie road 1, Norwood road 1, Andrews street corner 1, Prospect ' terrace 1 alteration, Arney street 1, Arthur street 1, Technical School street 1, overhead bridge 1; total 19.
Complimentary reference was made to the work of the committee in this connection and to the assistance voluntarily rendered by the Thames Valley Electric Power Board’s engineer, Mr Mitchell, in reviewing the borough lighting.
