SOCIAL AT NETHERTON
FAREWELL AFTERNOON. Members of the Netherton Basketball Club gave a farewell afternoon toMiss K. Hopping, who is leaving the district, on Saturday. There was a large attendance. Community singing occupied part of the programme and competitions were won by Miss M. Olsen, Miss M. McIntosh and Miss V. Olsen. Solos were sung by Miss P. Jamieson and recitations were given by Miss McIntosh.
Mrs Calder, president of the club, presented Miss Hopping with a fountain pen and a pencil and a bouquet of spring flowers with the best wishes of the club.
Miss Hopping briefly replied. Afternoon tea was served by the members and the function concluded with the singing of “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow.”
